► Bursary fund
The National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) provide annual funding for a Bursary scheme. This fund is used to help those NASES members who, due to lack of funding, would be unable to undertake the NASES/Reading University qualifications.
The fund is allocated and administered in the following way:
1. Places on the residential for the 'Career Development Learning' module course are fully funded for all registrants who are members of NASES. As this is a core module for the certificate and diploma, it will provide a benefit to all registrants reducing the cost of the qualification by approximately £500.
2. The remaining money each year is used to encourage new registrations who can apply for help from the fund for module fees or for other residentials.
3. To be eligible to apply, individuals must:
· Be current members of NASES (any level of membership)
· Register for the qualification with Reading University
4. The aim of the funding is to encourage applications from services in the following categories:
a. services with insufficient training budget
b. services who have not yet had a registrant
c. services who are unable to fund all the members of staff who would want to register, at the same time
d. services who are able to fund part e.g. residential element but not assessment fee or vice versa, and therefore need 'top up' funding
5. Applications must be made on a module by module basis on the appropriate form, to the NASES national Office in the first instance. Applications should be made as early as possible, preferably at the same time as you apply for a place on the course or for a distance learning programme. Retrospective applications cannot be considered.
6. If an individual obtains an NCWE bursary, a repayment could be claimed under the following circumstances:
· If they fail to complete the assessment for any module for which funding has been received, within two years
· if they withdrawal within six weeks of a residential module, they may be invoiced for all or part of the course fee.
