University of the Arts London

The University of the Arts London are holding a part-time job fair. The aim is to help fresher’s and returning students secure part-time or temporary jobs whilst studying at the university. Sixteen employers have confirmed and this year we have a broad range of employers – retailers, restaurants, caters, temp recruitment agencies, a design company, a volunteer organisation and a call centre.

University of Wolverhampton

The University of Wolverhampton will be running a full month of activities organised into themed weeks:

  • The first week is called Student money Advice Week where the Employment Centre is working with the SU and Student Finance. They will be taking their road show around the various campuses and promoting different ways to access financial assistance, part-time jobs etc;
  • During the second and fourth weeks they will hold a range of workshops on CV and interviewing skills, employer presentations etc;
  • The third week will concentrate on Volunteering to fit in with Volunteering England CSV week.

Lots happening in Lincoln during the month including the launch of our Lincoln Award; numerous employability workshops for students and we are holding a NINO day for students to get their National Insurance numbers on campus. In addition Enterprise Rent-A-Car are coming to the Jobshop to deliver a student presentation on “what things you can do while you are a student to make you more employable upon graduation”.

Week commencing 3 October

During the week the university will be running a morethanwork event and will have displays and advice in the main reception covering:

  • part-time vacancies;
  • identifying skills;
  • CVs and applications

This will include support from the local job centre, local recruitment agencies, and the university’s careers team. Students can use our unique Job Pod which links directly to the Job Centre, or visit the Job Bus on campus.

The Careers Centre (CC) will be hosting 5 workshops on "Everything you need to know to get a part-time job"

The workshop will take the following format:

  • 5 minutes - how part-time jobs can help students with their career paths
  • 5 minutes - how the CC can assist students with their long-term career paths

North West

University of Liverpool

Thursday 6 October

The University of Liverpool will be holding its popular annual Part-time Jobs Fair, on Thursday 6 October, in the Careers & Employability Service, 150 Mount Pleasant, L69 3GD. There are currently a large variety of employers taking part and we hope that as many students will attend this year’s Fair as last year, when 1,462 students came through the doors looking for part-time, casual, temporary or seasonal work.

There will be a wide range of vacancies on offer to home and international students which includes charity fundraising, merchandise sales at Liverpool Echo Arena music events, hotel work, banking contact centre roles, on-campus work, event stewarding and seasonal coastal lifeguarding.

Additionally, the Jobcentre Plus/National Insurance Number Team will be at the Fair to advise international students on National Insurance applications. The University of Liverpool’s Financial Support Team (‘The Money Doctors’) will also be handing out advice on statutory funding, debt concerns and welfare benefits.
